Interact is a service club for learners in High School who want to connect with other young people and have fun while serving their community. Rotary club sponsors, mentors and guides interactors as they carry out projects and develop leadership skills.

Settlers Interact Club

The Settlers High School Interact Club was chartered by the Rotary Club of Bellville in 1994. It is a vibrant club at the school that meets during the ‘society hour’ on a Monday under the guidance of a very dedicated Educator, Ms Nanette Botha. An Interact President and committee are elected every year and members of the Club are encouraged to participate enthusiastically and are asked to show a sense of commitment and loyalty.

They have continued on the very active way of ‘serving-above-self’ and manage to complete various projects which include the making of Eco Bricks to help build a school in Du Noon, the collection of plastic bottle tops for Operation Smile – that are recycled – the money being used to repair Cleft palate/lips, visits to Old Age Homes and hospitals, and collections of food and stationary items from all learners at the school which are distributed to various charities.

Kasselsvlei Interact Club

EarlyAct is a school-wide service club for Primary School students from ages 6 to 13 and is sponsored by a Rotary Club. The mission and operations of EarlyAct are closely linked to the ideals of Rotary and provide the foundation and natural succession into Interact.

The Club wasted no time in organising projects that involved all the learners at the school. An Easter egg drive was held, party packs were made up to distribute to nearby Grade R and Pre-primary schools.  At present, members are assisting with a wish list from the Saartjie Baartman Home and the Club assisted the Rotary Club of Bellville with the District Tree Planting Initiative.

Our club regularly sponsors a few interactors from each of these clubs to attend training, leadership and environmental camps run by our Rotaractors and District and have witnessed them flourish as a result.
